I cannot believe that its only a couple of weeks away until Derek and I meet Olive! This weekend my sister and my mom threw me the most beautiful baby shower, I was so blessed to have so many friends and family to share this special day. A big thank you to Melissa, Casey, Fiona, Lauren, Rhenda and Lauren for the spoils, I feel so lucky to have made such caring, thoughtful friends through blogging!

In this weeks Raising Creatively I asked Kim Longhurst to share her parenting tips with us. I have been a huge fan of Kim's work for years and was lucky enough to have her design my logo, business cards and tags for my jewellery line. Meet Victoria Verbaan, a dear dear friend and an incredibly talented Durban-based illustrator and designer, who was recently featured in the November issue of Wallpaper magazine! Not only does Vicky paint but her range extends into a range of little girls dresses, bags, gifting, rugs and wallpaper. If you're yet to stop by her blog or facebook page do yourself a favour and subscribe, as her "Doodle a day" feature is often the highlight of mine.

Leading up to the birth of my baby girl I have asked bloggers I admire that work in the creative industry whom have successfully managed to juggle being both a mom and a successful entrepreneur to share with you (and me!) a few tips/lessons that they have learnt along the way.

I've been a bad blogger of late due to moving house, studio and then trying to catch up on all my work but things are finally getting back to normal and our new house is beginning to feel like home.

We also found out yesterday that our little "peanut" is a girl! Absolutely over the moon and the nursery is finally underway to get ready for her arrival on the 6th of January. Happiness!

I'm going to miss this place like crazy but am happy to be moving closer to my family, especially seeing as our little peanut is due early January! As part of my facebook group giveaway I am giving away a gift hamper worth over R500 to the best pic sent in of you wearing one of my jewellery pieces. I was over the moon when I received an email from the Durban designer Lisa Hayes-Foley who had used two of my pieces in a shoot she did recently for her clothing label Frockabilly

I then spent the next hour on her blog getting to know the girl behind the label. She describes herself as an "aspiring pin up model, in betweensie, believer" and is a lover of all things vintage.

"Why did I choose the name Frockabilly?

I've been a huge fan of Leigh Schubert for years and it only seemed natural when planning my wedding that she would be the one I would ask to make my wedding dress. We hit it off from the moment we met and before I knew it not only was the wedding dress of my dreams being realised but we were also collaborating for her Cape Town Fashion Week collection.

Normally I never venture into the realm of colour but had so much fun incorporating the neon orange that Leigh had requested with my engraved wooden elements. Above are a few pics from the show, you can view the entire collection HERE.

Last week much to our excitement we went for our very first scan. (that little blob is our "peanut") I can't put in to words what an incredible experience it is to see your baby's heart beat for the first time, we were both so emotional and feel truly blessed to be expectant parents.

Hope you all had a beautiful weekend, I can't believe it is over already. Spent some lovely quality time with my mom on Friday, Market happiness on Saturday (post on my gorgeous purchases to follow) and then Sunday we got painting. Amazing what a coat of white paint can do to furniture!

Lip Delight and other fancies

I was given a gorgeous lychee flower "Lip Delight" by Mor as a gift this weekend and have since then become obsessed with their products. Beautifully packaged, incredible smell and probably the most moisturising lip balm I have ever used. Cant wait to get my little paws on more of their goodies!!!
